The seventh annual FREDlanthropy Day of Giving, during which alumni and friends of SUNY Fredonia celebrate their love for the university by giving back to the area that means most to them, whether their department/major, athletics team, or scholarships, is slated for Wednesday, April 19.
The State University of New York at Fredonia has announced the appointment of Karen Rohr as the new Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the Fredonia College Foundation.
Two alumni will be recognized during Homecoming Weekend, slated for Oct. 14 to 16, with Outstanding Achievement Awards – Cecilia (Howe) Fordham, ’59, and Sean Kirst, ’81. Many other activities are planned for the weekend.
Native American Heritage Month will feature an address on Nov. 16, “Restoring Educational Balance in Pandemic Times using an Indigenous Framework,” by Associate Professor of Oncology Rodney C. Haring, who is director of the Center for Indigenous Cancer Research (CICR) at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Homecoming 2021 at SUNY Fredonia presents opportunities, challenges and celebrations. Alumni William E. Finn, ’83, and the Honorable William K. Taylor, ’97, will be honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The Career Development Office will host its 13th annual Graduate School Fair on Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as part of Graduate School Week at Fredonia, the week of Oct. 18.
SUNY Fredonia’s Career Development Office shared the spotlight at the SUNY Career Development Organization’s annual conference, receiving an Award for Excellence in Programming and seeing Christopher LaGrow, its associate director, installed as the organization’s new president.

A virtual workshop, designed to assist entrepreneurs and startups by presenting an overview of key legal issues, will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 28, by attorney Michael Borrello as part of the continuing Entrepreneurial Education Program at the Fredonia Technology Incubator.
