Baker, Carlson double winners

Will Baker (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) won the 200- and 100-meter freestyles and Arron Carlson (LeRoy/Notre Dame) won both boards at R.I.T on Saturday for the Fredonia men's swimming and diving team. The Tigers claimed the team score, 177-121.

Baker's time in the 200 free was 1:48.03. His time in the 100 free was 48.67.

Carlson tallied a score of 323.65 off the 3m board. Phil Tubbs (Jamestown/Jamestown) and Jacob Storms (Owego/Owego) finished second and third, respectively. Tubbs registered a 235.80, and Storms a score of 223.60.

Carlson's winning score off the 1m board was 280.70.

Troy Lubanski (Leicester, N.Y./York) was the only other Devil to win an individual event, taking the 200-meter IM in a time of 2:03.73.

The Devils have their home opener next weekend when they play host to Geneseo at noon on Nov. 7.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
