Bradley triples, Krasnek qualifies

Christian Krasnek (Springville/Springville) won both the 3m and 1m board with NCAA Regional qualifying scores when the Fredonia swimming and diving team traveled to the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, Oct. 28. Bill Bradley (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) was a triple winner for the Blue Devils.

Off the 3m board, Krasnek scored 285.90 and won the 1m with a mark of 278.35.

Bradley was first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 54.63 and the 200 butterfly in 2:03.88. He was also on the 200 freestyle relay team that finished in 1:32.65. Graham Jones (Tonawanda/Kenmore East), Pat Woods (Hamburg/Frontier), and Cameron Criss (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) joined Bradley in the winning relay.

Bradley also earned a second place in the 100 freestyle.

Jones won the 1,000 free in a time of 10:48.13 and was second in the 500 free in 5:09.76.

Drew Page (Avon, N.Y./Avon) won the 200 IM in 2:14.04 and Woods was second in the 50 freestyle.

The Devils travel to Grove City next weekend for a tri-match with Grove City and Geneseo.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
