Bunk wins twice at Cortland

First year student Sarah Bunk (Sayville/Sayville) won both her singles and doubles matches at the Fredonia women's tennis team fell to Cortland, 8-3, on Saturday.

Bunk teamed up with Adriana Speach (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) to take their doubles match 8-4. She earned a No. 3 singles win 6-4 and 6-3.

Olivia Miller (Springwater/Wayland-Cohocto) was the other winner, taking a 2-6, 6-3 (15-13) victory at No. 2 singles.

The Devils are now 1-1 on the season.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
