Buster Brown Bean brews beverage to battle breast cancer

The Buster Brown Bean Company has stepped forward as the official sponsor of the SUNY Fredonia Men's Hockey team's annual “Pink the Rink” fundraising campaign, set to take place this Saturday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. in Steele Hall.

To help generate excitement for the event, the company has developed a special Strawberry Creamcicle-flavored beverage that it's calling the "Pink Drink."

"Think of a strawberry Italian soda with a hint of vanilla and a splash of cream!" said co-owner David Culver, '02.

Buster Brown Bean will be selling the beverage during the game at the Time Out Café in Steele Hall. All Pink Drink proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Fredonia State Men’s Hockey.

In addition to sponsoring the event, Buster Brown Bean has also purchased a jersey in honor of breast cancer survivor and SUNY Fredonia alumna Sallie Pullano, '58, wife of Music Professor Emeritus Frank Pullano, '56.  The jersey will be worn by Team Captain Chris de Bruyn, who wears number three.
