Carlson national runner-up, double All-American

Arron Carlson (LeRoy/Notre Dame) won his second straight All-American honors, taking second place in the men's 1-meter springboard dive at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Carlson's second place finish of 521.75 came on the heels of his All-American honors in the 3-meter springboard dive the same week.

Rafael Santiago (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown), in his final collegiate competition, won the consolation finals in ninth place, receiving his second straight distinction as Honorable Mention All-American. Diving in his first national competition, he received Honorable Mention All-American earlier in the week after finishing 15th in the consolation 3-meter springboard finals with a score of 435.85. He finished 11th in the preliminaries (444.70).

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
