Carlson tops national champ

Arron Carlson (LeRoy/Notre Dame) won the 1-meter board over last year's national champion, Sam Randall, of Geneseo.

Carlson's score of 335.25 again provisionally qualified for the NCAA Zone meet. He also took the 3-meter board with a score of 340.95. Carlson has won all eight events he has competed in this year.

Geneseo won with a team score of 168-127.

Jake Favret was a double winner, taking the 100-yard backstroke 1:02.28 and 200-yard breast stroke in 2:21.29.

Bill Bradley (Dunkirk) won the 100-yard butterfly in 55.55. Troy Lubanski tool the 200 IM in 2:02.79.

The Devils claimed the 400-yard freestyle relay 3:26.51. Nathan Link, Graham Jones, Liam Jones and Bradley made up the quartet.

The Devils travel to Alfred State next weekend.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
