College of Education honors top students

Education majors cited for exceptional professionalism in and outside of the classroom were honored at a luncheon on Friday, Dec. 7, by the Office of Student Services in the College of Education at SUNY Fredonia.

The Office of Student Services sponsors a monthly award to one student from any teacher certification program, including Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, any Adolescence Education program, Speech and Language Disabilities, Music Education, or any graduate education program. Nominations can only be made by faculty members.

The Fall 2007 award recipients feted at the event each received a certificate, a Faculty Student Association gift card, and had their name inscribed on a plaque recognizing their achievement. Honorees included Mary Fardink, a senior Childhood Education major from Ashville; Bethany Burlingame, a first-year graduate student in Curriculum and Instruction from Cassadaga; Jennafer Skiba, a sophomore Childhood Inclusive Education major from Penfield; Jessica Brocki, a senior Speech and Language Disabilities major from Hamburg; Rachel Frey, a junior Childhood Education major from Cicero; and Patrick Newell, a senior Social Studies Adolescence Education major from Williamsville.
