Cosmetic surgery topic of next Social Science Colloquium

SUNY Fredonia will host its third Social Science Colloquium of the spring semester as Josh Adams, assistant professor of sociology, explores the issues of cosmetic surgery as consumable health care. The event will take place on Monday, March 30, at 3 p.m. in 108 Fenton Hall.

The title of Professor Adams' talk is “Medicalization and the Market Economy: Constructing Cosmetic Surgery as Consumable Health Care.” Dean David Ewing of the College of Natural and Social Sciences will sponsor the event, and refreshments will be provided. 

SUNY Fredonia’s College of Natural and Social Sciences is comprised of several departments including biology, business, biochemistry, chemistry, computer and information science, economics, geosciences, mathematics, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, speech pathology and audiology, sports management and exercise science.
