The Fredonia women's tennis team continued its winning ways, dropping Brockport 9-0 and improving its record to 7-0. Sarah Bunk (Sayville/Sayville) and Mikayla Johnson (Lakewood/Southwestern) each won every set to pace the Devils.

Bunk won 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and Johnson repeated the dominance at No. 4 singles.

Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg/Hamburg) took No. 1 singles 6-0 and 6-2. Olivia Miller (Springwater/Wayland-Cohocton) was a 6-0 and 6-4 winner at No. 2.

To complete the sweep, Jane Chiacchia (Hamburg/Hamburg) won 6-4 and 6-2, while and Taylor Marelli (Riverhead/Riverhead) won 6-2 and 6-1.

In doubles, Anna Chiacchia and Miller won at No. 1 by an 8-1 count. Bunk and Johnson won 8-0, and Jane Chiacchia and Marelli were 8-2 winners.

It was also the first SUNYAC match of the season. Brockport dropped to 1-5.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, Cara Pellechia finished fourth in the 100m dash, and also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200m for the top two finishes for the Fredonia State women's track and field team.
