Dr. Litwicki addresses tradesmen group on Labor Day

Ellen Litwicki, professor of history, presented an address, “’Agitate, Educate, Organize’: The History of Labor Day” to the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen in New York on Sept. 15. The Society was founded in 1785 to provide educational and social services to artisans. Her lecture was the first in the Fall Lecture Series, “Labor, Landmarks, and Literature.”
