EAP to host presentation on healthy communication

Lisa Eikenburg

Fredonia’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will be continuing its Path to Wellness Series with the program, “Say What You Mean the Right Way: Health Forms of Communication.” on Thursday, April 16 at 1 p.m. in the Williams Center Room G103B.

The seminar will focus on how communication can be used to strengthen relationships and enhance mutual understanding.

EAP is a free and voluntary service for all employees, retirees, and families that provides support and assistance to employees with work performance problems that result from some type of personal problem. Services provide assistance with various things such as assessment, problem solving, referrals to resources, consultation and return to work meetings.

Programs and support groups that focus on personal and professional well-being are offered throughout the year. For example, healthy eating, music for relaxation, Wellness for the Holidays, smoothie days, and handcraft groups.

Customized workshops can be presented to a department on topics ranging from wellness at work to stress management.

EAP also provides orientations and training for all employees, managers, supervisors, and union representatives on benefits and use of EAP. To access the offerings, contact EAP Coordinator Susan Murphy, at susan.murphy@fredonia.edu to have your name added to the EAP listserv or visit the web site at www.fredonia.edu/eap.
