Adjunct Lecturer Carl Lam, ’14 and Assistant Professor Mike Igoe

Two members of the Department of Communication, Assistant Professor Mike Igoe and Adjunct Lecturer Carl Lam, ’14, will present at the 63rd annual convention of the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) on Sunday, April 8, in Las Vegas.

Both will serve on the panel “Building Educational Outreach Programs with Local Broadcasters,” alongside Annemarie Franczyk, associate professor of Journalism at SUNY Buffalo State, and Heidi Raphael, vice president of Corporate Communications at Beasley Media Group, Inc. All four serve as board members of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association.

Their talk will explore the power of networking and building programs to connect local media with educational institutions. More than 200 sessions, events and workshops will be held during the three-day convention.

BEA is a leading international academic media organization whose goals are to advance insights, excellence in media production and career advancement for educators, students and professionals.
