Midnight Madness to kick off Homecoming Weekend

Michael Barone

The first annual Midnight Madness pep rally will take place on Friday, Oct. 17 in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse from 9 to 11:45 p.m. The Department of Athletics, Office of Alumni Affairs and House of Hoops Basketball Club encourage students to come out and cheer on the Fredonia Blue Devils basketball teams and their coaches. This event kicks off Fredonia’s annual Homecoming Weekend.

The Midnight Madness pep rally will include half- and full-court shot contests, sack races and musical and dance performances throughout the night. The Fredonia Dance Team and Envied Xpression are scheduled to perform. Refreshments will also be sold throughout the night.

The 2014-15 Fredonia Blue Devils Varsity Men’s and Women's Basketball Teams will be introduced in an entrance ceremony. Each player will be showcased.

Students are encouraged to wear specific colors to acknowledge their academic year.  Freshmen should wear yellow/orange; sophomores, green; juniors, blue; seniors, black; and alumni and graduate students, white.

Throughout the event, organizers are asking all attendees to use the hashtag #bleedfredblue on all social media outlets.

There is no cost for Fredonia students to attend with their Fredcard. All others are $3.
