FREDONIA, N.Y. — February 6, 2009 — Molly Kubic, a senior Public Relations major from Allegany, N.Y., has been selected as the recipient for the November 2008 Student of the Month.

The Residence Life Student of the Month Committee selected Kubic following a nomination by her supervisor, Amy Post, ResNet coordinator. The committee members were comprised of Allison Adams, Jennifer Cinque and Cate Schrum, all hall directors within the department of Residence Life.

Recipients of the award are actively involved both on campus and in the community. Kubic serves as the senior class representative in the Student Association and co-chair of the senior class challenge, and is a college ambassador as well. She also participates in Fredonia’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter, which offers media writing workshops on campus in addition to other community-oriented activities.

Kubic has also been named to the Alma Mater Society in recognition of her outstanding display of character and leadership. She is also currently completing a health education internship in the Student Affairs Office and has taken on leadership roles within the S.T.E.P.S. program, including chairing the first-ever AIDS Walk in Chautauqua County in 2007.

Following graduation in May, she hopes to be hired by a not-for-profit organization and assist it with its public relations efforts.

The Student of the Month program began in 2003 to recognize students’ success and dedication in both the classroom and the community. The committee is comprised of administrative employees as well as residence hall directors.
