Mulcahy, Francis cited for grades

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its All-Academic Cross Country Team lists last week. Two Fredonia men were included.

Fifth-year senior Collin Mulcahy (Batavia/Batavia) and sophomore Ethan Francis (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk) were included for achieving a grade-point average of 3.30 or higher and finishing among the top 25 percent in their region.

Mulcahy, holder of a Fredonia bachelor's degree in History/Social Studies Adolescence Education, finished 24th among 303 runners at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional held last Nov. 12 at Glassboro, N.J. He is currently working on a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Francis, a Video Production and International Studies double major, finished 28th in the same race. Francis is also minoring in Political Science.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
