Sam Wolfe Connelly, a New York City-based artist and illustrator, will speak at the fourth installment of the Fredonia Technology Incubator’s Arts and Business Luncheon series on Friday, April 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In addition to introducing his career as a commercial and fine artist, Mr. Connelly will present his work and explore a variety of related topics that include marketing, merchandising, attracting and keeping clients and gaining access to prominent galleries.

Illustrations created by Connelly, who studied illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, have appeared on the covers of books published by Penguin and the London Folio Society editions of “The Great Gatsby” in 2013 and “Emma” in 2015. He also designed movie posters for the Natalie Portman drama “Black Swan” and SpectreVision’s “The Boy,” as well as the album cover for the original Howard Shore score for the David Cronenberg film “Scanners.” His list of publication credits includes Scientific American, The New York Times and Marvel Comics.

Connelly is represented by Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle, Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco and Arcadia Contemporary in New York City.

Registration for the luncheon, which is free and open to the public, can be arranged through www.fredonia.edu/incubator. Seating is limited. Lunch will be provided for registered participants. The incubator is located at 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

The Arts and Business Luncheon series is possible through the support of Barbara Räcker, director of the Marion Art Gallery at Fredonia, as an extension of the Visiting Artist Program and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
