Percussion Ensemble will perform with Chautauqua Symphony July 2

The SUNY Fredonia Percussion Ensemble, made up of both students and faculty, will be performing in concert with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra on Friday, July 2, at 8:15 p.m. in the Chautauqua Amphitheatre at the Chautauqua Institution. Stefan Sanderling will conduct.

Fredonia School of Music faculty who perform in the ensemble are Tiffany Nicely and Kay Stonefelt, who are also musical directors of the various Fredonia Percussion Ensembles.

About the Percussion Ensemble:
The SUNY Fredonia School of Music offers percussionists a place to learn, grow, develop and succeed in percussion.  The curriculum provides performance opportunities in concert bands, symphony orchestra, opera, musical theatre, contemporary and world premiere performances, African xylophone and drumming ensembles, and jazz ensembles.  The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Kay Stonefelt, performs concerts each semester in Rosch Recital Hall featuring contemporary music and arrangements for percussion.
