'Pink The Rink' jerseys now on sale

With 100 days until 2016 "Pink The Rink," Fredonia Blue Devils pink jerseys have gone on sale.

People wishing to honor and remember loved ones will be able to buy a jersey for $250 and have the jersey personalized. The buyer or buyers will get to choose what they want written on the jersey nameplate. To make arrangements to purchase a jersey, contact head hockey coach Jeff Meredith at 716-673-3334 or e-mail to meredith@fredonia.edu.

The Blue Devils will wear the jerseys for their game Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, vs. SUNY Canton at the Steele Hall Ice Arena. After the game, each players will present his jersey to the family and friends of the cancer survivors being honored – and in some cases, to the honorees themselves.

The 2016 game will marked the 10th renewal of Pink The Rink, with all proceeds having benefited American Cancer Society breast cancer research. The men's hockey team has raised over $60,000 in jersey sales and donations. Gate receipts from the event the last few years have also been donated to the American Cancer Society.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
