Quince vocal ensemble to give concert, lecture

Ethos New Music Society will bring the Chicago-based Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble to campus for a two-day residency that includes a concert on Monday, March 27, 8 p.m., in Rosch Recital Hall and a lecture on Sunday, March 26, at 7 p.m., in Mason Hall Room 2019.

Quince – comprised of Kayleigh Butcher, Amanda DeBoer, Liz Pearse and Carrie Henneman Shaw – has an experimental repertoire that is changing the paradigm of contemporary vocal music. By regularly commissioning new works, the group provides wider exposure for the music of living composers.

The ensemble has collaborated with groups such as Eighth Blackbird and Third Coast Percussion, both also from Chicago, and continues to thrive on unique musical challenges and genre-bending contemporary selections.

Tickets for the concert -- $5 for students and $8 for community members – can be purchased at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center. MUS 120 credit will be offered for concert attendance. The lecture is free and open to the public.
