Rachael Coccia spent summer traveling to Alaska and Hawaii while working for educational TV show, Aqua Kids

Rachael Coccia spent her summer as the host and associate producer of a nationally syndicated children's television show, Aqua Kids. The Victor, N.Y., native is a senior majoring in communication/public relations. 

Aqua Kids is dedicated to teaching young people the importance of protecting and preserving the marine and aquatic environments.

As Coccia’s second and final season with the show, she was able to travel to Alaska and Hawaii. While there, she wrote and performed the tracks, show openings and closings, and bumps.

Coccia also wrote and performed her own segment titled, "Aqua News." Over two seasons and 40 episodes, all which she helped research and organize, Coccia was able to bottle feed a baby walrus, scuba dive with Caribbean Reed sharks, and hold a baby puffin.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
