The Fredonia women's tennis team's season came to an end on Saturday when they fell to New Paltz, 5-0, in the SUNYAC Tournament at the Binghamton Tennis Center.

The Hawks won all three doubles matches, then the fifth and sixth singles matches to clinch the team victory. They were also leading in the remaining four singles matches when the match was declared over.

Fredonia ended its season with a 12-4 record, a new school record for wins in a season. In addition, they established a bevy of career and single-season individual and doubles records.

The all-time leader in career singles and doubles wins is senior Olivia Miller (Springwater/Wayland-Cohochton). She will graduate with a all-time singles record of 38-13 and a double record of 24-26. The bulk of her singles wins came at the No. 2 spot (26-3) while all but two of her doubles wins came at the No. 1 position.

With one season of eligibility remaining, No. 1 player Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg/Hamburg), a junior, is 27-11 in singles and 23-18 in doubles -- the second most wins all-time in both categories. Meanwhile, sophomore Sarah Bunk(Sayville/Sayville) is 21-3 in singles -- mostly at No. 3 -- and 19-4 at doubles, ranked third and fifth, respectively, on the two lists. Bunk's .826 doubles winning percentage is tops on the all-time for the time being.

Four 2018 team members hold down the top six spots on Fredonia's all-time list of wins in a season. A new record of 13 wins was established this year by freshman Jane Chiacchia (Hamburg/Hamburg), who earned nine of those wins at the No. 5 spot this season. Miller holds the next two spots on the list -- 12 wins this season, and 11 last year. Bunk also had 11 wins in 2018 and 10 wins last year, tied with Anna Chiacchia, who had 10 wins in 2016.
