Fredonia Radio Systems, WCVF-FM 88.9 and WDVL Cable Channel 5/Web-cast, is presenting its 5th annual "Rockin' the Commons": A Benefit for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute on Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Barker Commons.

This year, the effort is focusing on pancreatic cancer research and awareness, as it is one of the most dangerous and fastest growing threats.

Featured will be all day live musical performances by groups and individuals, including Flood the Shoreline, Dan Berggren, Anomaly, Much More Chill, the Boy and His Machine, and the Fredonia Jazz Ensemble.

The Teacher Education Club will also be holding a children's carnival alongside of Alpha Phi Omega. Many other groups will be working in conjunction with the project such as Earth Week's "A Sustainable Taste of Fredonia."

Baskets of donated goods will be raffled off during the afternoon, and Chiavetta's Chicken Dinner's will be served at 5 p.m. Tickets are on pre-sale through the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office and online.  All proceeds will go directly to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Also, FRS will be kicking off a 48-hour pledge drive tonight live on both radio stations taking pledges and donations for Roswell Park as part of their effort. Special guests, features, musical requests, dedications and much more will be featured.

Special thanks goes out to WNYF-TV and Sound Services for their services towards our cause.
