Rokos a double winner at N.U.

The Fredonia women's swimming and diving team was topped by Niagara University, 125-100, on Saturday, but Samantha Rokos was a double winner claiming the 200 IM in a time of 2:17.04, and the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.15.

Fredonia featured three other winners. Danielle Dembrow won the 100 breast stroke in a time of 1:13.12.

Off the 1m board, Samantha Kowalewki won with a score of 219.23, and Meghan Bartlett took the 3m board with a 262.58.

Taylor Chwalinski and Chelsea Spiegel were runners up in the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle, respectively.

Fredonia travels to Ithaca next weekend for a tri-match between the Bombers and Brockport College.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
