Steele Hall to host ice skating recitals

“Disney on Ice,” the theme of this year’s SUNY Fredonia ice skating spring recitals, will be presented in two different shows, on Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. and Tuesday, March 25, at 6:15 p.m.,  in the Steele Hall Ice Arena.

The children performing, from age 4 through mid-teens, are enrolled in the college’s Learn to Skate program, which meets each week during the winter season. They will perform as a group. Members of the SUNY Fredonia Figure Skating Club serve as their instructors and will give solo routines at the shows. Instructor Joan Disbrow is the ice skating coach of both groups of skaters.

The Sunday show will feature 65 children and 10 college students; the Tuesday show will have 20 children and six college students. Approximately 16 different numbers will be presented at each show. Skaters will perform in the order of their age, beginning with the youngest.

Both shows are free and open to the public.
