Two Fredonia Blue Devils, including a top freshman, have been chosen to the 2017 SUNYAC Softball All-Conference Team.

Katie Yudin (Liverpool), a freshman, made the First Team as a utility player, while junior Lauren Pixley (Hamburg) was chosen as a Second Team outfielder.

Yudin also became the third Fredonia player to be named SUNYAC Softball Rookie of the Year. Katie Bartkowiak (2010) and Alyssa Brognano (2011) were the previous recipients.

A right-handed pitcher and outfielder, Yudin batted .420 in conference games -- .333 overall -- with five doubles, two homers, sever RBI, and a .640 slugging percentage. She also won three SUNYAC games and had three complete games in the pitching circle. Her overall pitching record was 7-10.

Pixley, a three-year Blue Devil, is receiving her first all-conference award. She made an impression with a .328 conference batting average with eight RBI. She also had 21 chances defensively without committing an error in left field, including a diving game-saving catch for the final out against Potsdam.
