A pair of Fredonia sophomores have been named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team for cross country. The entire Blue Devils team was also cited.

Brenna Donovan (Youngstown/Lewiston-Porter) and Hannah Kurbs (Lockport/Lockport) finished 29th and 55th, respectively, in a field of 304 women at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional last Nov. 12 at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J.

In addition to finishing among the top 25 percent in their region, both Fredonia women attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or above -- the classroom component required to make the USTFCCCA all-academic list. Donovan is a double major (Cooperative Engineering and Biology). Kurbs is majoring in Biology.

The Blue Devils as a whole also qualified for a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award. They did so by combining for a team GPA of 3.40 -- well above the 3.10 threshold -- while attaining a team score at the Atlantic Regional. Fredonia finished 12th of 43 full teams at Rowan.
