The Fredonia women's volleyball team (22-10 overall, 7-2 SUNYAC) finished the regular season with a split on Saturday, winning the morning match against Skidmore and dropping the afternoon match to Union.

"Every match is a learning experience and these were no different," Head Coach Geoff Braun said. "We wanted to have a better showing (against Union), but it's a new season starting next weekend."

The Blue Devils are headed to the SUNYAC Tournament where, next Saturday, they will meet the winner of Friday's first-round match between Buffalo State and Cortland.

In the 3-0 win over Skidmore, Paulina Rein (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) was a productive offensive option, finishing with 15 kills and four aces. Jessica DiChristopher (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca East) tallied 10 kills. Rein was also a strong defender, totaling 20 digs.

The Union match, a 3-0 loss, saw the Blue Devils struggle in serve receive, and they could not recover in time to mount a comeback. Rein and DiChrstopher were again the primary offensive threats, finishing with 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Rein totaled 22 digs, while Sara Madison (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) had 18.
