Fredonia senior Stephanie Thompson (Verona, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) won her 20th career singles match Saturday in the Blue Devils' 8-1 home win over the Medaille Mavericks.

Thompson defeated Emily Insinna 4-6, 6-1, and 11-9 in the third-set tiebreaker in their No. 2 singles match. It raised Thompson's career singles mark to 20-21 and broke a tie with former teammate Molly Zanetti for singles wins, the most by a Blue Devil in the past seven seasons.

It addition, Thompson teamed with sophomore Samantha Pedneault (East Moriches, N.Y./Sachem North) for an 8-2 win in their No. 1 doubles match. It was Thompson's 22nd career doubles win, tying Zanetti on the seven-year recognition list.

Emily Fulkerson (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) was also competing in her last home match and scored wins in both singles and doubles. She improved to 12-8 in singles and 11-17 in doubles over four seasons.

Thompson, Fulkerson, and a third senior, Jenna Fiacco (Vernon, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill), were recognized during a short pre-match ceremony. Fiacco was a doubles winner.

In addition to the seniors, sophomores Chloe Cohen (West Hempstead, N.Y./West Hempstead) and Halee Dickinson (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) won singles and doubles matches. Cohen upped her 2014 singles mark to 7-4.

The Blue Devils improved to 5-6 heading into the SUNYAC Tournament next Friday, where they will take on New Paltz -- the No. 1 seed from the East Division -- at Binghamton, N.Y.
