Teaching Interests

Here at SUNY Fredonia I am fortunate to get to teach first year students in two different areas of biology. I was always drawn to ecology because of my love of the outdoors and nature. However, during my studies and graduate career I realized how important and fascinating it is to understand biology at a cellular and even molecular level.
Biology is all about interactions. We see this, whether it is the interaction between two microscopic cellular components during the process of mitosis or the interactions between a species and its environment. As a teacher, I help students to understand some of these complex and fascinating interactions using hands on lab courses. I strive to help students master the first year biology curriculum while providing them with the basic skills and knowledge that they will need to be successful at Fredonia.
