2018-2019 Campus Closings and Office Information

With some exceptions, campus buildings will be closed effective close of business Friday, Dec. 21, and will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.  Other offices will have limited hours during the first three weeks of January, see the schedule information below:

Campus and Community Children’s Center

The Campus and Community Children’s Center will be closed for families, Dec. 24 – Jan. 1, 2019. Reopening Jan. 2, 2019.

 

Central Receiving/Stores

Open: Normal Hours – Dec. 26-28

There will be no deliveries to campus buildings during the shutdown.

 

Credit Union

Open:  Dec. 24, 9 a.m.-noon

            Dec. 26, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

            Dec. 27, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

            Dec. 28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

            Dec. 31, 9 a.m.-noon

            Jan. 2, 2019, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Closed: Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2019

 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP will be closed Dec. 22-Jan.1, 2019.  Please call 716-673-3586 for instructions, if service is necessary during the break.

 

Facilities Services

Facilities Services will have minimal maintenance and custodial staff during this period. There will be limited snow plowing of parking lots and walkways and limited snow shoveling at building entrances. Non-essential parking lots will not be plowed during the evenings and nights. In emergencies, please contact University Police (ext. 3333).

Requests for Maintenance:

The online work requests will be monitored daily.

Faculty Student Association (FSA)

The University Bookstore and Convenience Store hours will be:

Dec. 24, 26 - 28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Jan. 2-18, 2019, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Dec. 25, 31 and Jan. 1, 2019 - Closed

Starbucks Coffee hours will be:

Dec. 22-24, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Dec. 26-31, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Jan. 2-18, 2019; 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 9-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday

Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2019 - Closed

Cranston Marche:  Please visit fsa.fredonia.edu for hours of operation.

Tim Hortons will be closing on Friday, Dec. 21 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.

Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 meal plans are not active during the semester break; however, a J-75 Meal Plan will be available for students enrolled in J-Term. A J-75 plan functions for the J-Term session only. Cash, check, major credit cards, Fredonia Debit Accounts and FREDFunds are accepted during the semester break at Starbucks, Cranston Marche, University Bookstore and the Convenience Store.

The FSA Office will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at 8 a.m.

 

Garage

Open: Normal Hours – Dec. 26 -28

 

Mailroom

Open:  Dec. 27 and 28, 8 a.m.- noon

Note: Mail must be to the Mailroom by 11:15 a.m. for same day processing to the post office. No departmental mail deliveries or departmental mail pickups will be held during the shutdown.

 

Registrar’s Office

Final grades are due at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27 through Your Connection.

 

Residence Halls

The Residence Halls will be closed from 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, through 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019.

Paycheck Distribution

State Payroll - Professional staff, faculty and graduate assistant payroll checks dated 12/26/18 will be available for employee pick-up on Wednesday, Dec. 26 in the University Accounting Office, Maytum Hall Room 402, between 8 - 9 a.m. Please enter Maytum Hall via the loading dock door. State employees may only pick-up their own check and must bring picture identification. Any paychecks not picked-up will be distributed to departments as usual on Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2019.

It’s not too late to sign up for direct deposit! Completed forms must be turned in to the Payroll Office, Maytum Hall Room 303, by close of business Wednesday, Dec. 12. Questions regarding direct deposit may be directed to Sue Cortes at ext. 3775.

Questions regarding paycheck distribution may be directed to Sandy Noble at ext. 3467.

Student and College Work Study Payroll – Paychecks/advices dated 12/20/18 will be distributed to the departments as usual on that day.

Park and Ride Shuttle Service

Will cease operations for the fall semester on:

Friday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

The shuttle bus will NOT be in operation during the holiday/semester break.

This service will resume operations on the first day of spring semester classes on:

Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at 7:30 a.m.

Most campus buildings/businesses will be closed for 10 days, beginning on Friday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 1, for the traditional break between fall and spring semesters. Limited hours of operation will be in effect at other facilities.
