Dr. David Ezzo
Dr. David Ezzo, a 1985 SUNY Fredonia graduate, will return to campus Saturday, Oct. 25, for a book signing and preview of his forthcoming work. The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the SUNY Fredonia Bookstore in University Commons.
Ezzo earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from SUNY Fredonia, a master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma in 1987, and a doctoral degree in Anthropology from Richardson University in 2005. He has served on the faculties of Erie (NY) Community College, Genesee Community College, Villa Maria College and Niagara University.
He is the author of three books and six articles on North American Indigenous cultures. Copies of his latest publication, Papers on Historical Algonquian and Iroquois Topics, will be available for purchase and signing until 3 p.m.
Ezzo developed an early interest in Native American history as a teenager through scouting, a passion that deepened during his years at SUNY Fredonia. He has presented at the Algonquian Conference and co-authored several articles with Dr. Alvin H. Morrison.
The book explores historical roles of Native women and examines topics including the Prophet Handsome Lake. A review by The Moving Words described the work as “rich in accurate details and imagery, serving as a perfect introduction and guide to anyone who wants to learn more about America’s roots.”
