Blue Devil Spirit Week slated for the first week in December

Senior Class President Deoniss Jackson has announced that Dec. 2 through 6 will be Spirit Week on the campus of SUNY Fredonia.

The class is looking for all departments to be involved with the effort, including faculty and staff. Criteria include creative/unique outfits for each day, and multiple people from departments participating.

Monday, Dec. 2 – designated as Character Day (dress up as your favorite character)

Tuesday, Dec. 3 – designated as Twin Day (match with a friend to look like a twin!)

Wednesday, Dec. 4 – Onesie Day (wear your most comfortable onesie!)

Thursday, Dec. 5 – Throwback Thursday (dust off your pagers and tube socks!)

Friday, Dec. 6 – FRED Friday (dress in your favorite Fredonia gear)

It will be a "best dressed" competition. The committee will select an honorable mention "winner of the day" for every day of Spirit Week and then first, second and third place winners for the overall week.

A group photo must be sent each day via email to Ms. Jackson at jack1972@fredonia.edu before 7 p.m.

First Place Department Winner: $50 Upper Crust gift card 

Second Place Department Winner: $25 Blasdell Pizza Gift Card

Third Place Department Winner: $15 Tim Hortons Gift card

She noted, “What better way to show their Big Blue Family spirit, than a Spirit Week!  

The week is slated to end with a SUNY Block Party on Saturday, Dec. 7 with a non-alcoholic 18 years of age and over event at the Fredonia Grange No. 1 on West Main Street from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are available at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center, and all proceeds will go toward the Senior Class Gift.
