Creative writing lecturer Schlich to have book release party for short story collection

Lecturer Eric Schlich

A book release party for “Quantum Convention & Other Stories,” the first book written by Eric Schlich, lecturer of Creative Writing in the Department of English at the State University of New York at Fredonia, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m., in the campus Science Center.

poster of book coverThe collection of eight genre-bending short stories that walk the line between reality and fantasy received the 2018 Katherine Ann Porter Prize in Short Fiction at the University of North Texas.

Mr. Schlich will read excerpts of the book at the party, sign copies and respond to questions from attendees. Books will also be available for purchase before and after the event. The gathering will be held in the Science Center’s Kelly Family Auditorium until 8 p.m., and is free and open to the public. The book will be added to the university book store inventory.

Schlich, who resides in Dunkirk, has written stories that have been published in Fairy Tale Review, Crazyhorse, Gulf Coast, Mississippi Review, The Massachusetts Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Electric Literature and Redivider, among other journals.
