The 1984 comedy film “Revenge of the Nerds” will be shown as part of the Convocation film series “Ivory Tower Misfits: Images of Higher Education and College Professors in Hollywood Films” on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7.30 p.m., in the Williams Center Room S204.

In the film, a group of bullied outcasts and misfits from fictional Adams College resolve to fight back for their peace and self-respect against a jock fraternity. Its cast is led by Robert Carradine and Anthony Edwards.

The Convocation film series, which included “The Paper Chase” in the fall semester, explores the role of institutions of higher education and the academics who populate them through the lens of popular culture, allowing the viewer to investigate contemporary perspectives of college life.

Free pizza, sandwiches and snacks will be available.

The screening is free and open to the public.
