Kershner, Sinclair make IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

Two Fredonia Blue Devils have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.

Jen Kershner, a 2019 graduate, and Morgan Sinclair, now a senior, were among the 653 student-athletes from 173 different institutions to be recognized. Honorees must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Kershner is a repeat selection, having been on the Honor Roll in 2018. A native of Liverpool, N.Y., and a graduate of Liverpool High School, she majored in Childhood Inclusive Education, with a minor in Coaching. She is the daughter of Sheri and Greg Kershner.

Sinclair is majoring of Childhood Education. A graduate of Greece Odyssey High School in suburban Rochester, N.Y., she is the daughter of Judith and Thomas Sinclair.

The Blue Devils are coached by Marykate Edmunds.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, Cara Pellechia finished fourth in the 100m dash, and also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200m for the top two finishes for the Fredonia State women's track and field team.
