Syd Lamberton was selected as Resident Assistant of the Month for March by the Office of Residence Life.

A graduate student from Pennsylvania, Syd is currently working toward their M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction in Inclusive Education. They were nominated for the award by Jacob Steinhoff, Residence Director of University Commons and Gregory.

“Syd not only listens but offers advice and helps peers and students to come up with a plan to help them achieve said goals,” Residence Director of University Commons and Gregory Hall Jacob Steinhoff.

“Syd supports their community by always being engaging and always being willing to help no matter the day they are having,” Mr. Steinhoff said. “Syd will take the extra moment to engage with a student who normally doesn't/won't engage and that helps foster an amazing community.”

Syd also serves as a graduate assistant at the Career Development Office, is a member of Ice-Skating Club, and is active in diverse campus and community organizations.

“There is so much opportunity for growth, and a strong sense of support,” Syd said of Fredonia. “I feel very lucky to be part of a community where people genuinely invest in and want the best for one another — it's an encouraging place to live and work.”

Mr. Steinhoff credited Syd for going above and beyond to engage with students from both Gregory Hall and University Commons.

“Syd not only listens but offers advice and helps peers and students to come up with a plan to help them achieve said goals,” he said. “Syd is always willing to listen.”

As for the future, Syd said, “I often say that my favorite things to do are learn and grow, so I am always open to new opportunities and experiences, and I hope to continue on a path that feels both meaningful and fulfilling.”
