A Social Work Student of the Year award is presented to one student at both the undergraduate and graduate level of each school that offers bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees in social work.

Ms. Johnson has demonstrated strong leadership not only in her academic studies but has also served as president of the Social Work Club and the Phi Mu chapter of the Phi Alpha National, the social work honor society.

According to Associate Professor Michael Clarkson-Hendrix, director of the Social Work program, “Paige has a bright future ahead of her in social work and is a strong asset to our profession.”

Tammy Johnson, mother of the award recipient, introduced her daughter, describing her as demonstrating a life-long commitment to serving vulnerable children and families within her community that her professional education has amplified. Johnson's grandparents also attended the awards ceremony.
