The Help Hub, located in the Williams Center adjacent to Freddy’s Locker, will continue to highlight resources throughout the semester.

During the week of Sept. 8 to 12, programming will center on Basic Needs Support.

Events and initiatives include:

  • “Sweater Weather” Clothing Drive – Donations of gently used sweaters, hoodies, and larger/plus-sized clothing will be collected for the campus Thrift Room.
  • Food Drive – Non-perishable food items will be accepted throughout the week for Freddy's Locker.
  • SNAP Assistance – A representative from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be available on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide guidance and assist students with the application process.

Donation bins will be placed near the Help Hub for the convenience of those wishing to contribute.

The Thrift Room, established this past spring, offers students access to clothing, accessories, and other essential items at no cost. The resource is available to all students, whether seeking to meet an immediate need or simply to find something “new to you.” The Thrift Room is located at the rear entrance of Eisenhower Hall. Weekday hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., and Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Campus Food Pantry, established in Spring 2016, has aided those who suffer from food insecurity with perishable and non-perishable food items throughout the academic year as well as summer sessions.  Recently, the Campus Food Pantry has been relocated to Freddy's Locker on the first floor of the Williams Center, making it even more convenient for students to drop by, place an online order, and pick up a bag of food. Weekday hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to participate in the initiative by donating, utilizing available resources and supporting one another.
