Thirteen Dance majors are set to present their choreographic works at SUNY Fredonia in April.

Bachelor of Fine Arts’ Dance projects, featuring 10 Dance majors, will be presented on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the James and Marcia Merrins Dance Theatre of Rockefeller Arts Center.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $5 for all students. They are available online 24/7. Tickets may also be purchased on Monday, Wednesday or Friday by phone at (716) 673-3501, in person at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at the door.

Presenting at the April 9, 10, and 11 show titled "Collective Pulse" will be Alaya Moore, Chasey Folck, Jordyn Zurbaran, AJ Freeman and Mia Ciechalski.

Moore, a Dance major and African American Studies minor, choreographed a group piece, “Beneath the Flood,” and performs a self-choreographed solo, “From Her, Through Me.” 

Folck, a Dance and Business Administration major, choreographed a group piece, “Pomegranate,” and performs a self-choreographed solo, “No Fixed Address.”

Zurbaran, a Musical Theatre and Dance major, choreographed a group piece, “One in a Million.”

Freeman, a Psychology and B.S. Dance major, choreographed a group piece titled “Resonance."

Ciechalski, a Communications - Journalism and Dance major, choreographed a group piece, “Highs and Lows.” 

Presenting at the April 16, 17, and 18 show titled "Beyond Words" will be Mackenzie Phelps, Valentina Duić, Lily Parzymieso, Lillyanna Whipple and Cassie Gillen.

Phelps, a Dance and Psychology major, choreographed a group piece, “SONDER,” and is performing a self-choreographed solo, “This Bitter Earth.” 

Duić, a Dance major and Psychology minor, choreographed a group piece, “who gets to heal?” and is performing a self-choreographed solo, “Things Left Unsaid.” 

Parzymieso, a Dance major, choreographed a group piece, “hold on/let go,” and is performing a self-choreographed solo, “Half-Remembered.”

Whipple, an Acting and Dance major, choreographed a group piece, “Act One: Becoming.”

Gillen, a Musical Theatre and Dance major, choreographed a group piece, “800-799-7233.” 

In addition, on Friday, April 24, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Dance majors Ava Sargente, Jordan Koelemeyer, and Brooke Jasinski will present works as part of the Envision 2026 Symposium in the Merrins Dance Theatre. 

Sargente, a Music Industry and Dance major, will be presenting a self-made dance film, “I’m Just Fine.”

Koelemeyer, an Exercise Science and Dance major, makes a presentation called, “Bridging the Gap: Athletic Training in Dance.”

Jasinski, an Acting and Dance major, was the choreographer for Silver Creek Central School’s recent musical and is presenting, “Select Choreographic Works from ‘Mean Girls! The Musical.’” 

The symposium is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
