Is there a relationship between Bratz dolls and young girls’ body image, sexuality, and self-esteem? A lecture from guest speaker Tomi-Ann Roberts titled, “Little Bratz: Sexualization of girls and girlhood,” will answer that question Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in Fenton Hall Room 105.

The lecture is part of Women’s History Month, presented by the Women’s Studies program and the Women’s Student Union. It is free and open to the public.

Dr. Roberts is currently the Winkler-Herman endowed Professor of Psychology at Colorado College.

Her research interests center around the psychology of women, gender, and the body. She explores attitudes toward women, as well as women’s own self-evaluations and emotions such as anxiety, disgust, shame and pride. She has taught a variety of coursers including: emotion, introduction to psychology, mind and body, personality theory, and psychology of gender.
