Fredonia defeated Wells College, 5-4, in women's tennis Saturday afternoon.

The rain-plagued match saw the Blue Devils (3-3) win four of six singles match and one doubles match.

Singles winners were Chloe Cohen (West Hempstead), Olivia Miller (Springwater), Julia Taboni (Depew), and Chloe Karnisky (Canandaigua).

The doubles win came from the duo of Christine Thomas (Ransomville) and Phoebe Langdon (Syracuse).

Because of the rain, the singles matches were reduced pro sets to eight points. Miller and Karnisky were 8-0 winners at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Taboni was an 8-2 winner at No. 5 singles. Cohen securred an 8-3 win at No. 3.

Thomas and Langdon combined for an 8-3 win at the No. 2 doubles spot.

The Blue Devils return to action next Saturday at SUNYAC opponent Oswego.
