Documentary, information and vaccination for HPV to be offered to campus and community on Jan. 31

Lisa Eikenburg

In an effort to educate students and community members about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccine, the Chautauqua County Department of Health is hosting a free screening of the documentary, “Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic,” at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.

A light dinner will be provided, and an expert panel will be there to answer questions. Nurses will also be on site to administer HPV vaccinations, if desired. Vaccinations can be provided from 6 to 9 p.m., to males and females ages 11 to 26. A parental consent will be necessary if a youth is under 18 years of age. Those planning to receive the vaccination should bring identification and an insurance card if possible, if not, just identification.

The event sponsors include Fredonia, the Chautauqua County Department of Health, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.
