Assistant Professor of English Dustin Parsons read from his creative works at the Carnegie Mellon University Visiting Writers Series. Past guests in this series include Rita Dove, Dave Eggers, and Russell Banks. In addition to reading from a story called "Safe" and a story called "Overgrowth," Parsons also presented a lecture on character development in short stories. The event was held Thursday, Sept. 17.
