Fredonia resident Maggie Bryan-Peterson, director of grants administration and research services, has been selected to participate in the Harvard Management and Leadership in Education (MLE) Program from Sunday, June 17 to Thursday, June 29 in Cambridge, Mass.

During the intensive, 13-day session, participants will be introduced to ground-breaking instructional techniques, the latest innovations in teaching and learning partnerships and new strategies involving the reallocation of resources. Academic diversity, curricula, alliances, personal leadership analysis and educational delivery methods are examples of some of the many topics that will be discussed over the two-week period by the MLE Program’s internationally respected facilitators.

The Harvard MLE Program is offered annually by the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The program is designed for senior administrators from institutions of higher learning and admission is considered very competitive. SUNY Fredonia Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities Paul Schwartz is a previous program participant.

“I am very pleased and very proud that the institution will be represented once again at a program of this magnitude,” said Ms. Bryan-Peterson. “It has meant so much to me to have the support and confidence of President Dennis Hefner and (Academic Affairs) Vice-President Virginia Horvath, who encouraged me to apply for this institute…It will be an extraordinary experience.”

Ms. Bryan-Peterson has 28 years of grant-writing experience and will mark her 17th year at SUNY Fredonia this June. She earned her master’s degree in creative arts/theatre from Purdue University and is a certified research administrator (CRA). Active in her profession, Ms. Bryan-Peterson is a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and the Society of Research Administrators (SRA). She is a past recipient of the State University Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
