Hope Antz Memorial Scholarship on road to endowment

Christine Davis Mantai

On Friday, Nov. 6, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., the Advanced Leadership Development class coordinated a scholarship fundraiser in memory of the late Hope Antz, who passed away this summer following her freshman year. A total of almost $1,700 was raised from the event that will be put towards an endowment to start a Hope Antz memorial scholarship. The event was held in Dods Hall and was coined, "Camp-In for Hope."

As part of their curricula for the leadership development class, students were expected to plan and implement the project as a service to the community. They participated in a project proposal and will present their final presentation of this project to a panel comprised of SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff.

Special thanks goes to WHOA and performers/bands Much More Chill, Jud Q in the Black Hole and Déjà vu along with Hope’s sorority Sigma Gamma Phi.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Hope Antz Memorial Scholarship may still do so by filling out a pledge card, available at the Alumni House, or by calling 716-673-3553.  Online gifts are also accepted at www.fredonia.edu/give.
