Jessa Webber

Sigma Kappa Sorority will host “Jammin for Jessa,” an evening of musical performances in honor of Jessica Webber, a former Sigma Kappa sister who passed away as a result of cancer, on Thursday, April 11, at Doons to raise money for Relay for Life at SUNY Fredonia.

A cappella groups Much More Chill, Some Like It Hot, The Guerrillas and Mooses will perform from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased for $3 for anyone age 18 and over at the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office. Tickets, at $4 for those 21 and older and $5 for those under 21, will also be sold at the door.

Despite being diagnosed with a brain tumor while still attending Kenmore West High school, Webber enrolled at SUNY Fredonia as a business major in 2007. She was heavily involved with Sigma Kappa and she participated in the Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk and continued her support for Relay for Life which she began in high school. She passed away during her junior year in 2010.

The event is open to students, faculty/staff, general public and community members. Tickets will be available for the giveaway of a free mini iPad.
