Janet Knapp, who has given nearly 10 years of service and leadership to the Educational Development Program at SUNY Fredonia, has been named its interim director following the announcement of Kathleen Bonds' departure.

Ms. Bonds left Fredonia to become the director of Educational Opportunity Program at Erie Community College.

“SUNY Fredonia is fortunate to appoint someone with Ms. Knapp’s experience to lead the EDP program over the next year,” said Daniel Tramuta, associate vice president for enrollment services.

Ms. Knapp  was most recently the assistant director of EDP. She joined the EDP counseling staff in the fall of 1998. Throughout her career, she has worked in a wide range of college student services, encompassing academic advising, counseling and financial aid.

A graduate of the University of Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Ms. Knapp earned a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College.

Her appointment will remain in effect until February 2009.
