Christine Davis Mantai

Jason Paton took an internship to work with Cumulus Media (97 Rock, Classic hits 104.1) as a promotions and production intern for the summer. The sophomore is a communications/audio-radio major from North Tonawanda, N.Y.

Paton worked on several promotional events and assisted in remote broadcasts and station appearances from concerts at the First Niagara Center, an Attica rodeo and even watching Nik Wallenda walk over Niagara Falls.

At these events, his tasks included manning a prize wheel, judging contests (atomic chicken wing eating), and setting up broadcast equipment.

At the office, Mr. Paton updated the 97 Rock website and contest pages and created advertisement video projects utilized at events.

On the production side, he would sit in with and assist on-air personalities during live or prerecorded programs, provide ideas for discussion, and received training for the operation of sound boards and other equipment.
