Kevin Cloos named director of merged departments

Kevin Cloos is the Director of Facilities Services.

Kevin Cloos has been named Director of the new Facilities Services Department, the result of a merger of the Facilities Management Department with the Building Services and Grounds Department.

The major focus of the Facilities Services Department is to provide efficient, quality support services to the SUNY Fredonia campus; to plan, create and maintain the outstanding physical appearance of the campus both inside and outside; and support the overall mission of SUNY Fredonia with a dedicated team of maintenance and cleaning staff working to provide clean, safe and well-maintained facilities.

The new department includes the custodial staff, structural trades, grounds and landscaping, electrical shop, heating plant, plumbing shop, refrigeration, energy management staff, and office staff.

Cloos has served as Director of Building Services and Grounds since February 2003. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Director of Facilities Management for Structural Trades, Grounds, and Garage from September 1999 until February 2003, after joining the campus in January of 1998.

Cloos will work closely with five assistant directors in providing leadership to a custodial and maintenance staff of over 140 employees. Assistant Directors in Facilities Services include are Bob Lawson (Capital Projects and Energy Management), Mark Delcamp (Assistant Director, Custodial Services), Mike Wygant (Assistant Director, Structural Trades, Grounds and Landscaping),  Jim Schwerk (Assistant Director, Electrical and Mechanical, and Mike Jackino (Assistant Director, Facilities Technical Services).
